Composing: Enter notes with a variety of tools, including virtual keyboard and guitar fretboard. Chords: Automatically detect chords from audio or MIDI files. With the ability to save to PDF, print your music or play through the sound card, MuseScore meets most requirements of composition and provides a free way for musicians to create sheet music right on the PC. If you have a MIDI instrument, a button from within the interface will enable the entry for these devices. The vast selection of symbols included is more than enough to create something with MuseScore. Each element can be manipulated with the mouse. To edit what you've created, exit edit mode first. When you enter "N", MuseScore enters into the edit mode, giving you the opportunity to insert the notes from the side panels with simple drag and drop. When creating a new document, a friendly step-by-step wizard will ask for data on the composition and the list of instruments to use, among other options. MuseScore is a musical score editor (sheet notes) which supports standard MIDI sequences. You should be able to export it as a musicxml and import that to MU 3 with little loss of content or formatting.Create your own sheet music for a ton of different instruments, musical scores with a myriad of customization and learning options. Having given those warnings, all is not lost if all you have is a MU4 version of a score. There is no guarantee that scores produced now in the latest version of MU 4 will be compatible with later development versions. 
It should not be used for "real" work, or at least if it is used it is at your risk. Version 4 is still undergoing development and the available versions are intended to be used only for testing purposes to uncover the remaining bugs.
Version 4 files indeed cannot be opened in version 3. If that doesn't work you should report the problem on Github as described in the MU4 beta release announcement. See Īssuming your Muse sounds have been updated you also need to update to the latest nightly version of MU4.
